Rain Event for SE AUS unfolding with 70-100mm+ possible for parts of VIC and decent falls for SA, NSW, TAS, including Severe Storms, Damaging Winds and Alpine Snow.

Melbourne, AUS: A rain event is about to unfold and lash parts of SE AUS over the next couple of days bringing HEAVY RAINFALL, DAMAGING WINDS and SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS. The event will start late tomorrow in parts of South Australia as a weak cold front starts to transition in to a complex low pressure system before moving through Adelaide and into parts of far western NSW and Victoria. Reaching Melbourne and Tasmania by Wednesday afternoon/night bringing THUNDERSTORMS some Severe in parts of Victoria and NSW bring HEAVY RAINFALL & DAMAGING WINDS. Before a strong upper level cool pool of air creates a second burst of rain for Adelaide, Victoria, including Melbourne and Tasmania with an increased threat of DAMAGING WINDS.

Falls of 70-100+mm could fall over Alpine regions of Victoria including the Eastern Ranges including some Alpine Snow. While falls of 25mm+ will likely fall over parts of western NSW and VIC while other locations might see 5-10mm with higher totals likely under any storms. These storms will be hit & miss with a few that could become Severe.
